FIRST FLOOR ROOMS
Bedroom 1 - The Classic
Spacious bedroom with views of the river. Its high ceilings, enormous beams and a c18 fireplace (build over an earlier hooded fireplace) this bedroom has all the features of a classical chateau bedroom. With a double bed and an “en-suite” bathroom (original roll top bath, basin & WC).
Bedroom 2 – Napoleon
Pleasant, sunny room overlooking the river, with original beams, a c18 fireplace and objects, prints and books about Napoleon. The timber floor was added in the 18 century but in one corner the old
tiled flooring is still visible. Old features of an older fireplace can be observed. The room has a double bed, a Louis XVI wardrobe an “en-suite” bathroom (original basin and roll top bath with an
unusual plug system, WC). The castle was the first house to install running water and the framed delivery label shows details.
Bedroom 3 – The Scottish Room
Double aspect room inspired by Scotland. Overlooking the river and a little orchard (where a red squirrel scurries about) it has been decorated with engravings of tartans of old clans or not so
old like the “MC FROG” tartan, created by Bill Richmond to celebrate Anglo-French relations!
Four single beds, two of which are twinned, a fireplace and an “en-suite” bathroom, with original roll top bath and basin.
SECOND FLOOR ROOMS
With a more modern feel, the second floor rooms continue to enjoy authentic features such as the magnificent roof beams and the original c XVI floor tiles (spot the footprints of birds and small
animals!). A shower room and WC are adjoining the bedrooms.
Bedroom 4
Cosy bedroom with a double bed and views of the ancient oak tree and grounds
Bedroom 5
Spacious, double aspect room overlooking the river and the wooded grounds. Its L shape permits a well-spaced layout. There are four single beds, two of which are twinned.
